We flew to Lisbon and after seeing briefly my father in the 
Lar dos Lilazes,
we flew to Funchal, Madeira,
where Renato and Biota were waiting for us.
We spent 5 great days there, 
seeing Madeira from one end to the other. 
It is impressive.
It's a very beautiful island. 
Then all four of us flew to Lisbon,
where we stayed for the next 9 days.

April 2000

Easter vacation
Stella and I went to Pompano to spend Easter
with the family.
Michelle, Michael and the kids joined us, as well as,
 Richard and Lori.




1999
Pompano Beach - Florida
Spring Vacation
Stella and I flew to Fort Lauderdale.
Michelle, Michael, Andrew and Lindsay arrived the day before.
We drove to Disney (3 hours) where we stayed for two days at the Grand Floridian.
Returned to Pompano for the rest of the week.

Summer 1999
 
Pompano Beach - Three weeks
Stella and I spent two lovely weeks there alone.

At the end of the second week my brother Luis joined us.
A couple of hours after arriving from the airport we went to "our beach" and enjoyed a great afternoon in the sun and the warm clear waters of Pompano Beach.
 
The following morning, we left to Disney World.
We stayed at the Charpentiers.
During the next two days we had a ball!
We had a great time with Luis at Disney World.

 After returning to Pompano, we went with him to Fort Lauderdale and other places and enjoyed his company a lot.
At the end of the week, we brought him back to the airport.

 The same day Stella and I drove home, 
stopping one night in North Carolina,
and
 one night at Lou and Mary's in Virginia.

April Vacation
This was an unusual experience.
We celebrated Easter at the beach!
Who went?
Stella and I, Michelle, Michael, Andrew, Lindsay, Lisa, Steve, and Christopher.
We celebrated Easter with Avô, Avó, 
Iolanda and Tom.

Stella and I went to Las Vegaswith a group of teachers from Lincoln High School.
Even though gambling does not interest me at all,I must say that Las Vegas is impressive.

 spent one week with avô and avó.
 
During the Summer, Lisa and her friends
went to spend a week with avô and avó to celebrate completing their Masters Degrees in Social Work from Rhode Island College.

Stella flew a couple of days before I joined them.
Mary was still there when Stella arrived,
but they had left by the time I arrived.
